  5. This is an UPDATE file for MSGTOSS 2.0, creating MSGTOSS 2.0a (bug fix).
  6.  
  7. To install this update, all that is necessary is to replace the existing
  8. MSGTOSS0.OVR in your MSGTOSS directory with this new one.
  9.  
  10. NOTE: Please DON'T modify any existing MSGTOS20.LZH archives with this
  11.       update file!
  12.  
  13. To obtain a COMPLETE update, you can freq MSGTOS2A.LZH from my system
  14. (1:138/154 or 8:918/10) or obtain from any SDS bbs.
  15.  
  16. If you don't have the complete MSGTOSS system, you will need to first
  17. obtain either MSGTOS20.LZH (and replace its MSGTOSS0.OVR with this one)
  18. or obtain MSGTOS2A.LZH, which contains this new version, along with the
  19. anciliary files.  The complete system is rather large (406K in size),
  20. this is why I am offering just the update.

  29. MSGTOSS 2.0a fixes the following problems in MSGTOSS 2.0
  30.  
  31. 1)  ORGN:xxx keywords that contained either COMMAS or DOUBLE-QUOTES caused
  32.     2.0 to lock-up either during a purge (/TOSS/PREP, /SIZE or /SCAN)
  33.     for the affected conference.
  34.  
  35. 2)  Bug discovered (after 2 years!) where MSGTOSS would report the wrong
  36.     number of bytes free if the drive was one of those "big partition"
  37.     drives (160 megs+).  This mis-interpretation of the number of free
  38.     bytes may cause MSGTOSS to fail during a /SIZE operation.
  39.  
  40.     Many thanks to Richard Todd (1:3612/299 & 8:925/299) for providing
  41.     assistance (and code example!) to stomp this bug.

  43. 3)  Added the Quickbasic "Press any key to continue" patch to the MSGTOSS
  44.     compiled code, as outlined in appendix G of the RBBS docs.  This will
  45.     eliminate un-necessary lock-ups.
  46.  
  47. 4)  Changed (slightly) the MSGTOSS.LOG format for *.PKTS...
  48.

  54.     The first entry used to contain "Bytes:19103 Msgs:14", flowing off
  55.     of the screen.  This was moved to the second "Tossed" line.

  57.     NOTE: I believe a log analyzer is being written for MSGTOSS 2.0.  A
  58.           change like this is very slight, but I wanted to make it known
  59.           for prospective authors.
